Chucho Benitez, a soccer player with a good heart

Chucho Benitez supported members of rehab centers
After the death of Ecuadorian soccer player Christian ‘Chucho’ Benitez, the soccer team Bill and Bots Therapeutic Community has a new motivation for the upcoming soccer Open Championship to be held in the coming days in the parish Sua in the Atacames Canton.
El Chucho had another side that his fans were unaware off, his solidarity. The player travelled to Esmeraldas, Quito, to Atacames and was very well received, always willing to help his friends and family. This attitude was reflected in Atacames, where the ‘Chucho’ sent 24 uniforms and backpacks when I was in Mexico. This was his first donation as a sponsor of the group of 30 inmates that they rehabilitate alcohol and drugs addictions.
Emilio Campaz, 24, looks forward to the opening of the tournament to wear the shirt that he gave his idol. “It really is an honor for a player like Benitez to have supported us. He is a benchmark for improvement for all of us. We are motivated and we will win the title in honour of our sponsor,” said Campaz.
El ‘Chucho’ has done social work for four years where he used to live. Sending Christmas candies and toys to children and food baskets to the needy. So did on Mother’s Day, were he gave appliances, stoves, refrigerators and televisions.
Doris Bone was one of the beneficiaries of the work of the good-hearted soccer player, in 2011, ‘Chucho’ sent her a kitchen. “Not only he gave me a kitchen on Christmas I also received a basket. I’ll be forever grateful with what he did with the community and with us. He never forgot his people,” Bone said.
