CIA kept Pakistan in the Dark
Asif Ali Zardari, president of Pakistan, denied that his government hid the location of Osama bin Laden. Zardari added that his forces were excluded from the American operation that killed the Al Qaeda leader.
Against these statements the CIA director, Leon Panetta, informed that the Pakistanis could put the mission in jeopardy, since there have been spies within their members, hence they were kept out of the operation.
The Pakistani president added that the terrorist leader lived comfortably in a world that chased him. Zardari informed that after bin Laden was killed, Pakistan is under heavy surveillance, and his army is being questioned for its incompetence in apprehending the terrorist leader.
Several USA officials expressed their contempt regarding the investigative work of Pakistan. Susan Collins, a republican senator and member of the Armed Services Committee Senate of the United States said that sometimes Pakistan plays a “double game.” John Brennan, President Obama’s advisor, stated that it was inconceivable that bin Laden did not have any support from a country that allowed him to live with them for so long.
