City Hall will expand the Airport Jose Joaquin de Olmedo
During the regular meeting of the Council, Mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot, announced yesterday the immediate expansion of the airport Jose Joaquin de Olmedo, which will increase from 7 to 10 their sleeves, as well as an expantion of approximately 7,000 square meters in its infrastructure.
The expansion of the airport, which was contemplated in the concession contract with the company Guayaquil Airport Terminal S.A. (TAGSA), was asked, by order of the Mayor, to be carried out inmediatly.
The session also discussed, in the first debate, the draft of the Amending Ordinance, which sets the maximum rates that the Concession of the Airport System will charge on the services they provide.
Nebot stressed that the approval will not change the value of the national or international airport tax, neither the cost per load, or what national companies have to pay. What will change are the values paid by international airlines, which the Municipality has no reason to subsidize, he said.
