Cloud service of Microsoft changed its name to “Onedrive”
Posted On 27 Jan 2014
Due to a dispute with a British telecommunications company, the cloud storage service of Microsoft will be renamed from “SkyDrive” to “OneDrive”.
During July, the two sides settled out of court but did not reveal the financial terms of their agreement after British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC won an initial case in a British court.
Microsoft did not give a specific date, but reported that the name change would be done soon.
Although the measure does not imply a change in the service logo (two blue clouds with a white background,) it will make the name be more similar to other brands of the company.
