Cloudy days for animal feed
Posted On 26 May 2016
Smuggling and expensive raw material put at risk one of the key food sectors: the animal protein industry.
Chicken arrives from Peru at a cost of 55 cents per pound and without bills, while fertile eggs invade incubators. Not only birds. The pound of pork arrives from the same country at $ 1.60.
And now animal feed in bags without labels begins to arrive from Colombia. And the icing of that cake of problems is the rising price of the corn quintal up to $ 15.70 or $ 15.80 (the official price is $ 14.90).
