CNE Approved the Use of Advertising in Correa’s Campaign

The National Electoral Council approved the advertising campaign of President Rafael Correa for the popular consult and the referendum through advertising slots. Meanwhile the councillor Marcia Caicedo, expressed his negative to this request, and the President of the Council, Omar Simon, did not participated since he is currently at the United States attending a course at the Organization of American States (OAS).

In the session of the day the request of the chief of State was not present, this was placed in consideration with the Main Assembly and was approved immediately. President Correa made a document of two pages addressed to Simon, were he justify the reasons to demand his participation in the electoral campaign of the popular consult.

With this resolution, Correa is the first political subject who will be able to perform an advertising campaign for the elections of the popular consult. Meanwhile the rest of the political parties will be qualified next Monday.
