CNE Asks Neutrality to the Media

Domingo Paredes
The current issue of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) is the highly anticipated electoral campaign. The statement was made by Domingo Paredes, the president of CNE, “The current phenomena is that we are discovering that many pre candidates have radio networks and broadcast being paid periodically…”
Paredes stated that once the candidates are formalized, all those expenses will be imputed to the legal campaign expenses. CNE President pointed out that the reforms of the democratic code are a subject of debate regarding the constitutionality. The only thing that the Constitutional Court approved was the dismissal of the austerity measures.
Domingo Paredes assured that Electoral Council there is no vocation to the media control, they expect that the media abides by the law and the Constitution. (AV)
