The leaders of the political movement Machete, questioned the signature verification process by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
An initial report states that of the 22,888 rubrics that Machete submitted to the CNE, only 16,113 were approved while 4842 were ruled out because they were repeated in other groups, and others were rejected by insufficient data.
Leonardo Viteri, manabita movement leader, demanded a new revision of the discarded signatures and affirmed that the movement will continue collecting signatures to keep its legal life.
