CNE needs $800 k to verify signatures by Yasuni

The National Electoral Council (CNE) needs about $800 billion to implement the operating plan for the processing of signatures that will support the appeal a referendum to allow or not the exploitation of oil in a part of the Yasuni National Park. However this expenditure was not in the annual operating Plan (POA), therefore, counselors will have to manage that disbursement to the Ministry of finance, said the Magdala Villacís vowel.
Yesterday afternoon, the plenum of the CNE was installed to approve the operational plan. There are three groups that are collecting signatures for a referendum: Frente de Defensa Total de la Amazonía, colectivo Amazonía Vive y YASunidos. All must completed 583.324 headings; i.e., 5% of the voter registration this year.
The process of verification of signatures will begin in may, for which at least 300 digitizers and 100 verifiers are hired and 20 graphologists and security for the process will be provided by police and military.
