Cocoa closes with a new drop
Posted On 28 Jan 2016
Cocoa is still unstable in international markets, like other commodities. Future contracts (March) in New York lost $ 65, equivalent to 2.3%.
Each ton closed at $ 2,764, but during part of the day it expanded its downward trend at $ 2,743, its lowest level since April 1st, 2015.
The reduction reaches the finances of small Ecuadorian producers, mainly those that had obtained prices above $ 3,200 per ton last year. The crop has been the one that has grown the most in size in recent days, with the CCN 51 variety.
