Employers concerned about Government´s letter to workers in the country

Posted On 29 Jan 2016

Employers refused, through a statement, a letter sent by the Ministry of Labour to employees of companies of the country, in which the Government’s commitment to these people is emphasized.

The Government´s letter, dated January 2016, is signed by President Rafael Correa and Labor Minister Leonardo Berrezueta. It states that without workers there is no revolution and the idea of the supremacy of labor over capital excels.

The Ecuadorian Business Committee (CEE for its Spanish acronym) said, through a letter, that this is a proselytizing act that has caused concern. _ In addition, they are surprised _ that those letters are personalized: “It is questionable the use of personal data contained within the files of public bodies, its usage contradicts the right to privacy of individuals,” established in the Constitution.
