Posted On 18 May 2011
Unlike the report given yesterday morning saying that Tungurahua volcano ejected volcanic material, abundant greenhouse gas and ash that turned to the north and northeast on the Black River parish; this afternoon this activity decreased. Water vapor emission with low ash content is going to the east side first and then it will head the south and southwest.
According to Patricio Ramon, technician of the Geophysical Institute, activity has continued into this morning with ash columns that are going to the west without any significant ash emission.
He announced that in the last hours it shows moderate activity which tends to decrease although the emission is held.
