Command Center controlled the conduction of the elections
Posted On 24 Mar 2014
According to the Command Center that was installed in the National Electoral Council (CNE), in Quito, the lack of ballot papers in the Santa Rita parish, San Lorenzo Canton in Esmeraldas, was the main setback recorded on this Sunday’s elections.
The missing material was sent by air, so it was expected that the problem could be resolved in the early hours of the afternoon. In the rest of the parishes the process started and developed normally.
The command Center held permanent connection with the joint command of armed forces, the ECU-911, the national police and provincial electoral delegations.
At 17:00, at the end of elections, the President of the CNE, Domingo Paredes, via videoconference with Defense Minister, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, personnel of the armed forces and provincial delegations, reported on the development of the elections held yesterday.
