Posted On 09 Feb 2015
The Commission on Sovereignty and International Relations recommended to the plenary of the Assembly to acquiesce to partial objection that President Rafael Correa sent to the draft reform to the Law on Armed Forces Staff.
In Article 5 of the Law, the Commission raised: “The aides-de-camp charges will be assigned exclusively to the president, who will determine their duties and permanence in office, which may not exceed the active service time or corresponding degree.”
The veto changes: “The president is responsible, exclusively, of the employment and assignation of aides-de-camp assigned to their service, if he deems appropriate, the president shall determine their functions and the permanence, which may not exceed two years. “
