Compromiso Ecuador plans to propose a new question to the CNE
After the refusal of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to deliver the forms to the collective Compromiso Ecuador without going through the Constitutional Court first, the latter plans to submit a new question to the electoral entity.
The intention of Compromiso Ecuador is to exhaust all the legal instances. Guillermo Lasso indicated they will continue insisting and will deliver a more complete question. He also noted that the objective is not to reform the constitution, but did not give further details.
“The leaders of Madera de Guerrero, Suma, Sociedad Patrótica, Social Cristianos must know we’re here,” argued Lasso, inviting other political leaders to contribute in planning a new question.
Cesar Montufar, leader of Concertación, said: “We will support Democracia Sí (the group that submitted a package of seven questions yesterday before the Court) and any other group that is allowed to collect signatures.”
