Comptroller joins the CES in the auditing to the University of Guayaquil

The Comptroller monitors the State University, at the same time of the process that executes the Council of Higher Education (CES).

Enrique Santos, Member of the CES, said that this entity reported to the Comptroller’s Office, to run a research on the financial management of the University.

Also has requested the Authorities of the University to identify responsible officials in apparent improper payments and because of they violated the free of charge.

The Committee established a fine of $ 95,400 to the institution for that case, and demanded that this value is assumed by those responsible.

Enrique Santos, academic member of CES, explained that the authorities of the University wil mantain their positions but he said that the administrator team will make the review of some fundamental processes in regards to the financial sector, of public procurement and other decisions that need to be “endorsed” by the external auditors.
