Comptroller must still recover USD 854 million in penalties
Posted On 24 Mar 2016
From January 2007 to the present the General State Comptroller has recovered USD 350 million for the state coffers. This amount was the result of the control actions of public resources and the management undertaken by the body. However, there are still USD 854 million left to be recovered.
At the end of each year, the Comptroller performs the annual Control Plan that defines the institutions to be subject to an audit. Of the 6,000 agencies in the country only a third is chosen: the strategic sectors are more frequently observed, says Daniel Fernandez de Cordova, director of Responsibilities of the Comptroller.
