Cooperatives implement extra shifts to meet demand
In main cities of Ecuador, the excessive demand for tickets on the last day of the holiday caused the implementation of extra shifts by several land transport cooperatives.
Terminals of Ambato, Cuenca, Manta and other cities were crowded with domestic and international tourists who struggled to get a ticket that allowed them to return to their places of origin.
Cesar Sanchez, Inspector of the Municipal Public Mobility Company (OCSM for its Spanish acronym) indicated that everything went in order and for the passengers safety, alcohol tests , document control and status of the buses ckeck ups were made, with the help of the police.
Cooperatives as Coactur usually depart every hour, but this time it was almost every 15 minutes or when the bus was full. Sometimes, several buses, which travel only within the province, had to do trips to Guayaquil and Quito.
