Copa America: Argentina’s Performance Disappointed Fans
Yesterday the Argentinean players were booed and insulted by their fans after its match against Colombia in Copa America, which ended in a tie. Now Argentina has to win the match against Costa Rica on Monday, July 11 in Cordoba.
The tactic employed by Sergio Batista, the Argentinean sports director, did not solve the defence planned by his Colombian adversary Hernan Dario Gomez. Both teams were close to earn their scores, but the goalies Sergio Romero from Argentina, and Martinez of Colombia stopped all the threatening shots that came into their goal area.
When the referee whistled the end of the match the audience expressed their contempt because of the 0-0 score. Now the future of the hosting team depends on the match against Costa Rica in the last game of Group A. (AV)
