Diego Forlan helped Alvaro Pereira to score the victory point against Mexico

Last Tuesday night in Copa America the Uruguayan soccer team defeated Mexico with a score of 1-0. Uruguay will have to play against Argentina next Saturday.

During the first 14 minutes of the game, the Uruguayan player, Alvaro Pereira, scored the victory goal after the Mexican goalie, Luis Michel, failed to catch the ball. Pereira received a pass from his teammate Diego Forlan.

With this victory, Uruguay earned the second place of Group C with five points, followed by Chile who defeated Peru (1-0) earlier that day. Uruguay defeated Mexico in Estadio Capital (Capital Stadium) in La Plata, and over forty thousand fans attended the match. (AV)
