“With your confidence and passion we will succeed in February 2017 and all the battles that are presented … The revolution is you. We will win thanks to you.” These were some of the last words uttered by President Rafael Correa in his speech during the inauguration of the New Generation Millenium School in the San Juan Bosco parish, in Morona Santiago.
Part of his speech, of more than an hour, was devoted to criticize the old political class and his opponents. He said that they are the ones who qualify investment as spending. In addition, he enjoined them to show if he has squandered the money. “Public spending is you. Squandering, wastefulness, that´s a lie. You show me. Of course we have made mistakes, but they are marginal.” Therefore, once again he called his militants to mobilize and challenge those who criticize the work of his administration.
He said unemployment has risen as he anticipated. However, he clarified that he did not say it during the last debate with economists because at that time he had figures of the third quarter.
He apologized to the citizens for the delay in the delivery of the educational center which cost $ 6 million, including civil works and equipment.
