Correa returned to Ecuador and will receive a report from Glas
President Rafael Correa arrived yesterday to Quito after 17 days of vacation in Belgium, along with his wife, Anne Malherbe, and will chair the popular formal session of July 25 to be held in the Samanes park, as said by the governor of Guayas Viviana Bonilla on last Saturday during the nation-wide broadcast conducted by the vice president on charge of the presidency, Jorge Glas, from the southwest of Guayaquil.
The acting president warned the gas traders not to speculate or hide gas tanks because next week “decisive actions” will be taken to sanction them, stating that the sector redirects the gas surplus of each domestic tank towards the industrial sector, which has a non-subsidized rate.
On other issues, Glas announced the extension of the deadline for the eleventh round of oil exploration in southeastern Ecuador, requested by some companies to refine their proposals.
Regarding the espionage, he said that in the Telecommunications Act, sent to the National Assembly two years ago, it will be included a special chapter to prevent attacks “of the nature that have been carried out by certain intelligence agencies of certain hegemonic powers,” and that there will be a new negotiation with mobile operators regarding the radio spectrum.
