Posted On 15 Jul 2013

The Star from the musical sitcom Glee, Cory Monteith, 31, was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver last Saturday morning.

Police Chief Doug Lepard, explained that Monteith’s body was discovered by staff members of the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, after missed his check out time.

Vancouver officials said the cause of death was not clear at the moment, but ruled out a crime. Medical examiners will performed an autopsy today.

Recently, the young actor had completed a treatment for substance addiction. On March 31 of this year, Monteith announced through his agent that he had checked into rehab voluntarily, driven by the support of his girlfriend, actress and singer Lea Michele, among other castmates.

“Cory is a beloved member of the family of Glee, and we fully support his decision to seek treatment,” said 20th Century Fox TV through a statement at the time. “Everyone in the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”

In recent weeks, the actor seemed happier and healthier after leaving rehab on April 26. Monteith thanked his fans via twitter. “Sending big love to everyone,” he wrote. “Thanks for the support! Means the world to me!”
