Criminal involved in death of El Telegrafo’s former director, was arrested in Peru
After five years on the run, Francisco Javier Jurado Mosquera, allegedly involved in the assassination of former director of El Telegrafo newspaper, Carlos Navarrete Castillo, was arrested and taken to the Social Rehabilitation Center for Men in Guayaquil.
According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, the capture took place last Saturday night in the province of Trujillo, northern Peru, in coordination with the National Police of Ecuador.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect said his was named Edward and since he did not have any kind of identification, the police officers carried out a human identity test, which confirmed his true persona.
Jurado Mosquera, who was in the most wanted list of Ecuador, must appear before the Thirteenth Court of Crime of Guayas, over his alleged participation in the murder, which occurred on February 23, 2008.
