They have waited about two years for a judgement, after they filed a complaint based on article 68 of the current Constitution, which proposes that two people engaged in al lawful union, have the same rights as those who have contracted marriage.
After the hearing that took place last Friday, LGBTI activists (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex) that were present waited for the initial sentence to be ratified.
“With this case we stand before a discrimination. The exercise of a constitutional right in relation to a condition or a personal reality of a couple is being discriminated”, explained the national director of protection protection of the Ombudsman, in that province, José Luis Guerra.
