Date for the Next Hearing of case Diario El Universo was Set

Judge Eduardo Guerrero was suspended

Yesterday morning, the ruling that sets the time and date of the next hearing of case Diario El Universo – President Rafael Correa was signed by Judge Eduardo Guerrero Mórtola.

The Second Criminal Chamber set the hearing for August 25th at 09:00 am (local time).

Until midday yesterday, judge Guerrero Mórtola said he was working normally in his office, despite a thirty days suspension ruling ordered by the Judicial Council of Transition.

The penalty was just notified to the official yesterday afternoon. Mórtola Guerrero was a member of the Second Criminal Chamber of the Court of Guayas, where the documents of case El Universo remain. (AV)
