The Assembly yesterday approved the bill for the Presentation and Control of Sworn property declarations, which eliminates the requirement to submit these documents before a notary.
With 83 affirmative votes, 12 negative, with 5 abstentions, the plenary gave way to officials to submit statements electronically.
Before the vote, the chairman of the Commission on Citizen Participation and rapporteur of the regulationFabian Solano (AP-PS) justified some changes made to the law in relation to the text of the report for the second debate.
The final text eliminates a paragraph of Section 5 that stated: “The failure to submit the declaration, within the specified term, at the end of functions, will be presumed as illicit enrichment and the Comptroller will initiate an examination.”
