District Attorney did not find Paredes’ Scanner
Posted On 28 Sep 2011
Yesterday, Antonio Gagliardo, Guayas District Attorney, made the recognition of the office where judge Juan Paredes wrote, on July 20 and in less than 24 hours, the ruling against El Universo Newspaper, 3 of its managers and its former editor of opinion Emilio Palacio.
Gagliardo along with police forensics experts searched the computers, internet connections between the secretary and the court, and the computer tools used by the judge to pass his sentence, but they did not find the scanner that the officer had allegedly used to expedite the resolution of the complaint.
Gagliardo said that this week an expert will be designated to prepare the technical report of the original hard drive from the courthouse.
