11 national parks are part of the National System of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment: Cayambe Coca, Cotopaxi, Galapagos, Llaganates, Machalilla, Podocarpus, Sangay, Sumaco, Yasuní, Yacuri and Cajas, which encompass the greatest biodiversity in the world. (I)
