Ecuador National Police has a New Chief

Ministry of Interior, Gustavo Jalkh informed that General Patricio Franco is the replacement Freddy Martinez as the Commander General of the Police. On first notice Florencio Ruiz, was the Head of Estate who expressed his condolences on yesterday actions from members of National Police. Martinez presented his resignation after the incidents against President Correa.
The former Police Commander said his organization was infiltrated and those were the ones responsible for kidnapping the President.
Currently the country is in an estate of emergency, military officials continue to patrol the streets, and some police haven’t fully returned to their normal activities, according to reports there exist some contempt between policemen.
