Government Reports the Casualties on Rescue Operative
Posted On 02 Oct 2010
The Government presented the first official number of casualties during the rescue operative, so far thirteen people are dead and 224 were seriously wounded. This is the sum of the firefight between the armed forces in the Police Hospital of the capital and the criminal rampage on Guayaquil city.
However the report doesn’t show the situations in provinces like Manabí, who had six violent deaths related to crime and looting.
During the hospital rescue, two police officers perished one military soldier and a university student.
In Guayaquil, the casualties of crime were civilians that fell due to the lack of police surveillance. More than 24 big robberies of stores were reported in Guayas, Manabí, El Oro, Esmeraldas, Santa Elena and Azuay.
