Ecuador on security emergency for 180 days

Ecuador crime is unstoppable

Despite the severe anti-crime policies, common crime and organized crime in Ecuador continue to plague society, recognized the national government.

Those statements were justified by the Interior Ministry that declared an emergency in public safety that would last six months nation-wide, allowing the government to make direct contracts without bidding through the Public Procurement Portal.

The financial amounts for this process have not yet been revealed, however, the Interior Ministry confirmed newspaper El Comercio that the funds would be used for specialized technical equipment of the national police. They will also focus on logistics, infrastructure, technology and training resources.
