Ecuador protests against entry attempt to its embassy in London, where Assange is refugee
Posted On 24 Aug 2016
Tuesday Ecuador accused the British authorities to protecting in an “inappropriate” way its embassy in London where Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has taken refuge since 2012, after an intrusion attempt occurred Monday.
“The Ecuadorian government is concerned for the inadequate response of the British authorities, that arrived at the embassy more than two hours after the incident,” reported the embassy of Ecuador in a statement.
“The diplomatic staff has made available the evidence to the Diplomatic UK Police to clarify this serious incident,” says the document.
A man climbing a wall of the embassy was seen early Monday by security guards before finally fleeing. He was not identified.
