Ecuador replied to Germany about the attempted visit to the country
Posted On 11 Dec 2014
Ecuador’s Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino reminded on Wednesday, December 10 to the German Government that his country “is not a colony for 200 years” and has the right to determine the visits that accepts in its territory.
In a press conference held during the twentieth summit on climate change of the United Nations (COP20), in Lima, Patiño emphatically rejected a statement from the German Minister of Cooperation, Gerd Müller.
Müller told to German media, from Lima, that following the refusal the German commission received, they had met during the COP20 with the Minister of Environment of Ecuador, Lorena Tapia, to ensure “unequivocally that we do not accept that.”
