Ecuador seizes about 9.8 million counterfeit dollars

Ecuador seized about $ 9.8 million in counterfeit bills, said succinctly Interior Minister Jose Serrano.

“Important operation allows the confiscation of more than 9 million counterfeit US dollars,” reported the official in his Twitter account.

At the bottom of the message, a photograph in which dozens of wads of cash and a box with the note “false 9,753,900 dollars,” appear.

Serrano said that the seizure was in charge of the National Crimes Investigation Police Branch of the right to property.

No other source gave no further details about the confiscation of nearly 9.8 million dollars in counterfeit bills.

On March 1, the arrest of at least seven policemen linked to a case of counterfeit dollars took place; 10 million were seized in that operation.
