Ecuador Signs Agreement with U.S. in Matters of Migrants Rights
The Ecuadorian Ambassador in Washington, Nathalie Cely, and Secretary of Labor of the United States, Hilda Solis, signed an agreement to protect the rights of Ecuadorians who work in that country.
The goal is to teach fellow Ecuadorians living in the U.S. on issues such as laws, rights and duties of workers and employers on wages, health and safety.
This way it seeks to “foment an environment that respects the rights of Ecuadorian workers to improve compliance with the obligations from the employer to the employee, regardless of their immigration status,” said a statement from the Embassy.
U.S. also signed agreements with the governments of Honduras, Peru and the Philippines. (MZ)
