Andy Whitfield, the former star of the famous series Spartacus was a warrior on and off the screen. This Wales actor who reached international fame for his performance in Spartacus: Blood and Sand passed away on September of 2011 after battling against cancer.

During the 18-months of struggle, Whitfield and his wife Vashti asked the Oscar nominated director Lilibet Foster to capture the life of the actor in a documentary called Be Here Now.

Whitfield appears playing with both of his daughters and Vashti, the cameras followed them everywhere, even in his chemotherapy sessions, when he shaved his head and his search for alternative treatments. Sometimes he talked to the camera with tears in his eyes.

Now the producers have launched a campaign in Kickstarter to gather 200 thousand dollars to finish the documentary, which would be narrated by Jai Courtney, co-star in Spartacus and his best friend.

“In my heart, I’m convinced that everything is destined,” says Whitfield in the trailer shown in the Kickstarter page. (AV)
