Ecuador Streets Without Police Protection

(11h00) President Correa is being taken care of at the Hospital Metropolitano because of the tear gas attack.
(10h46) The presidential plane may have reportedly been taken over to make sure Rafael Correa doesn’t leave the country. The Vicepresident of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, can’t access the city because of supposedly police blocking.
After the speech given outside the Main Police Headquarters in Quito, police members in motos entered the headquarters, to support the protests. Apparently, police members may be asking the Press to get out of the headquarters.
In addition, members of the police may have thrown tear gas very close to where the President was, while other members in charge of the Security of the President. At the Presidential Palace of Carondelet, according to reports, the Presidential Guard may have left the Palace, which is going to put the President in a very big risk.
Banks, gas stations and other businesses have been robbed because of the lack of policemen. The Migration Police, Judicial Police and the CTG have joined the protest.
The police protest against law reforms, which may affect interests of the Police sector. Some bank agencies in Quito and Guayaquil have closed because of the lack of security. Also, important schools of the city, such as Técnico Simón Bolívar and Aguirre Abad have joined the police to protest.
