Ecuadorean Government plans to donate 4,606 prostheses

Ecuadorian Vice President Lenin Moreno, announced the plan “Prosthetics and Orthotics” for the creation of 300 prostheses monthly over a period of 18 months as part of social assistance for disabled citizens.
Moreno was present at the opening of a workshop for the manufacture the devices, which was enabled in the Hospital Abel Gilbert Ponton, in Guayaquil.
The technology for creating prostheses, of German origin, allows to create the mold of the prosthesis in one hour and achieve its full completition in five hours. For the plan, the Vice Presidency has $ 4 million.
The prostheses are free and can be ordered at the workshop. People that needs them should have the required license from the National Council on Disabilities (Conadis for its Spanish acronym). (MZ)
