Ecuadorian Artistic Promise will Compete in South Korea
Santiago Guillermo, 26, is a young Ecuadorian who was born with artogriposis, which did not allow him to develop his body articles, especially his limbs. But, this disease has not stopped him to becoming a virtuous painter, recognized internationally with exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America.
Currently, Santiago is ready to represent Ecuador at the Olympics for disabled art in Seoul, South Korea and as of September 27 will have to develop a work with the theme “flowers and passions” in just four hours at the Olympics skills.
He studied for 2 years at an art academy, but it is considered self. He paints still-lifes and is honing his technique in the portrait. Santiago is also being refined in the hyper-realism.
“The problems and difficulties are an excuse to fail in life. I really I have no excuse, my disability would not be a disadvantage for me but on the contrary, a great opportunity.” (BG)
