Ecuadorian companies offer their products in Russia

80 business meetings with the participation of Ecuadorian producers and exporters of bananas, coffee, cocoa, chocolate, fish, shrimp and frozen vegetables were recorded during the Moscow World Food Fair, held from 12 to 15 September, in Russia. Eleven Ecuadorian companies achieved sales commitments of about $ 12 million during a business conference organized by the commercial office of Pro Ecuador in the Eurasian country, within the framework of this fair.
According to statistics of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in the first half of 2016 domestic exports to Russia amounted to $ 659 million, growing by 11% compared to 2015. Ecuadorian exports to the Russian market are mainly bananas and flowers. In the first half of this year the Ecuadorian banana exports increased to $ 541 million, exceeding by 13% those of the previous period.
Regarding flowers, Ecuador remains a leader among exporting countries of this product to Russia, with a market share of around 40%. At the same time 12 flower exporting companies will participate along with Pro Ecuador at the Flowers Expo 2016, to be held from 13 to 15 September in the Russian capital.
