Ecuadorian photographer on the cover of National Geographic
Cris Toala Olivares can not hide his joy at seeing his picture on the cover of National Geographic. Based in the Netherlands, this is the second time his graphics are on the first page of this magazine.
Stromboli L’uomo e il vulcano (Stromboli: Man and volcano) is the headline of the cover of the Italian version of the publication, in which one of the photos Toala recorded in the Stromboli island and its volcano, located to the north of Sicilia, stands. This work him took about a year “between backs and forths.”
This work is part of its project to visit and photograph ten active volcanoes. His photographic material is part of a work published in 26 pages, where you can see a range of photos of the volcano and the daily life of its inhabitants, accompanied by a text of Italian journalist Marco Pinna.
