Ecuadorians are eligible for the 2023 visa lottery for the United States
Registration for the 2023 diversity visa program for the United States begins next Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
On this occasion, Ecuadorian citizens will be able to participate. But other Latin American countries such as Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico and Venezuela were left out.
Registration will begin at noon on Wednesday, reports the Miami Herald, citing the US State Department.
This first stage to participate in the lottery will end on November 9.
And for this occasion, the US government plans to deliver 55,000 professional visas to people from the selected countries.
Steps to follow
The first thing you must do to participate in the diversity visa program is to find out about its characteristics.
You can do it through this guide, published on the Department of State website.
Registration for the lottery is free.
From Wednesday and until noon on November 9, you can fill the form available here to register.
The United States government recommends not filling out the form at the last minute, to avoid inconvenience.
The selection is carried out through a computer program that randomly selects the participants. However, not everyone can participate.
Requirements
To be eligible for the program, you need to meet two initial prerequisites:
- Be a national of one of the countries eligible for the program. In the case of Ecuadorians, this requirement is met.
- Secondary education or two years of work experience in an area that requires at least two years of preparation and training.
