Ecuadorians living in Venezuela receive humanitarian aid from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador said today that it provides humanitarian aid to Ecuadorians who reside in Venezuela and have been affected by the crisis in the Latin American country.
According to the Foreign Ministry, approximately 90,000 Ecuadorians currently reside in Venezuela, of which most have cases of economic and health vulnerability.
At the moment, the Ministry’s assistance “is aimed at providing accompaniment and assistance to 37 citizens who are in a vulnerable condition.”
“There are another 32 compatriots who could return to Ecuador. Also, in this year six bodies have been repatriated, “the statement said.
One of the priorities is the delivery of medicines and supplies for compatriots suffering from catastrophic illnesses and access to medical examinations.The Foreign Ministry indicated that it is looking for “the best ways” through which the delivery of medicines could take place.
On the return of Ecuadorians in vulnerable situations, this Portfolio has asked the consulates in Caracas and Valencia to facilitate the departure of nationals by air.
For Ecuadorians who are in an irregular situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also provides advice on the procedures necessary to obtain visas. (I)
