Ecudos totally paralyzed its production over labor strike
Although hundreds of workers quit the strike last week and resumed their work in the sugar factory Ecudos, a group of employees of the mill, after an alleged dispute with members of the police, which left 15 injured and three arrested, decided to settle in the main access entrance of the factory, resulting in the paralyzation of all activities.
Although Ecudos agreed to suspend the activities to safeguard its workers and watch over the interests of the company, it said through a statement that they will not yield to pressure from protesters and said they are willing to take proper “legal actions.”
“It is incomprehensible that after we agreed on 14 points of the list of demands, being the solution of the other two remaining points in the hands of other entities, and only three being subjects of dissent but open to dialogue, a group that in number means a small percentage (8%), of our workforce, has chosen to persist in such illegal measures,” said the statement.

Ecudos’ main entrance remains blocked by a small group of protesters.
