Effects of the economic crisis are visible in 500 major companies in Ecuador

In the last issue of the Vistazo magazine tabout the 500 major companies in Ecuador figures show that the behavior of businesses during 2015, caused a major slowdown of over 10% in revenues.
A simple example helps to understand the impact: in 2014 the 500 largest companies reported revenues of over 82 billion dollars; in contrast, in 2015 revenues barely exceeded 71 billion dollars. In other words: 10 billion dollars less were sold in 2015 if compared to 2014.
If the movement of the 10 largest companies is revised by sector, the picture is similar: the most affected is the oil sector. Despite remaining on top, it had revenues of just over USD 12,700 million; ie 34% less than in 2014.
