Eight people were saved from dying in a plane crash in Macas
A pilot and seven passengers, including three children, survived the impact of the plane that hit a power pole while trying to land in a park in the south of Macas, at noon yesterday.
Without knowing the causes, the aircraft attempted to land in an open area of a park, but the plane crashed into a pole and was destroyed, without fire. Its occupants received several injuries, two of them serious. They were immediately helped by the people, at first, and then by the relief units of Macas which transferred the injured to local hospitals and other cities.
The aircraft has plates HC-BOD and is a Piper PA-32 model , belongs to the Amazon Green Foundation, was said in a statement issued by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DAC).
The incident occurred a mile from the airport, while the pilot Armando Jimenez carried out procedures for landing at in the airport Edmundo Carvajal in Macas.
