El Universo Case: Carlos Pérez Proposed an International Arbitration

Yesterday, Carlos Pérez Barriga, director of El Universo Newspaper proposed an international arbitration in the lawsuit filed by President Rafael Correa against that media.

The manager proposes to President Rafael Correa to take the case to an international arbitration “to be defined in an outer court (…)” without having to go to the Court of Human Rights.

Perez, director of El Universo, said that during the process there have been some abuses. “We were taken to a court where the head of the judges is the same complainant and that makes him judge and party (…).”
