Experts state that this conclave could last less than others. But never a Pope has been chosen on the first day of the conclave, it usually happens between the sixth and the seventh ballot, and the average time is two days, when it exceeds that time is said to be a “long conclave” .
Moreover, as an important fact, in this election, a new stove for white smoke has been installed to avoid confusion. It is the first time in history that the Sistine Chapel will have two Holy Smokes. The stove where the where the ballots will be burnt (black smoke), announce that there is no agreement, and the white smoke will announce the election of a new Pope.
