Elsie Monge: “The speech can not be suppressed by being labeled as of political tone”
Posted On 23 Sep 2015
The director of the Ecumenical Commission of Human Rights, Elsie Monge, spoke of the process of dissolution of Fundamedios by the National Communications Secretariat (Secom), and described as “consistent” the statements of the Ombudsman in the sense of not punishing Fundamedios and rather strengthen the rules governing the democratic framework and institutionality in the midst of a process of dialogue.
For Monge, those statements have empathy with the position of many national and international organizations of Human Rights, regarding the fact that the speech can not be suppressed by being labeled as of political tone.
